About us

We pride ourselves in producing top quality, high welfare pedigree livestock; Beef Shorthorn Cattle, Kerry Hill Sheep, Gloster Canaries, and most recently Large Black Pigs.  By keeping pure breed, pedigree livestock, we are helping to maintain precious, rare bloodlines and improve the genetic pool.  In recent years the Large Black pig has been vulnerable on the Rare Breed Survival Trust Watch List, and our breeding programme has helped to swell numbers significantly, by increasing our sow numbers, but also selling breeding pigs on to other pig breeders.  Of course there are only so many pig breeders, and with a lot of pigs to try to place, diversifying into food production seemed a logical step.  There is no middle-man.  We have the satisfaction of producing a truly delicious, honest, food which is so versatile, and a recognised household favourite.

The welfare and happiness of all our animals, including our free-range pigs is at the heart of what we do at our farm in west Norfolk.  Our pigs are born and reared outdoors and enjoy behaving like pigs in their free-range environment.

Meet the team:

Nick

A man on a mission to save the Large Black pig

breed.  A keeper of pigs many years ago, before

pursuing his career as a Senior Animal Health

Inspector for Norfolk County Council.  Now retired but

busier than ever, his passion for pigs has driven him to

start our current Large Black pig breeding programme on

our farm in West Norfolk, alongside the herd of Beef

Shorthorn cows, Kerry Hill sheep, and his world renound

stud of Gloster canaries.  Nick is a man with passion and

determination who is out feeding and tending to his

livestock in all weathers.
